H&S New York

ABOUT

Overview:
To celebrate their 25 years of bringing joy, diversity and wonderfully wacky entertainment to audiences everywhere, the Teletubbies sought a way to garner awareness around the momentous milestone that would bring their colorful bouquet of instantly recognizable cast members, Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po, to the forefront of pop-culture buzz. Challenged by the notoriously busy character and licensing landscape, The Teletubbies tasked H&S with ideation and execution of a low-budget, immersive experience that would resonate with the masses by tapping into a new landscape for the brand – luxury fashion.

Strategy:
To foster a stronger connection to the luxury fashion world, H&S ideated and executed a partnership between The Teletubbies and fashion designer Christian Cowan, bringing an organic tie to the fashion realm following the brand’s brief NYFW appearance by Tinky Winky in 2021. As an avid Teletubbies fan, Cowan was excited to embark on this partnership, and even mentioned that it was his favorite show as a toddler when he was growing up in Cambridge, UK.

As part of the campaign, Christian created a special one-of-kind item - the pièce de résistance: the 'Dipsy' boots. The luxury, neon green boots were styled in the same plush fabric as the characters, and featured the heads and arms of their namesake - Dipsy.

To launch the collection, H&S hosted an intimate media preview where select members of the press were able to view the pieces before the launch. The agency used their existing hospitality partnership to secure a venue at the Arlo Nomad that reflected the casual but elevated streetwear collection. The team secured an exclusive feature with the famed PAPER Magazine and welcomed guests from Footwear News, Page Six, Elle, The Wall Street Journal, and more.
