Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to express my interest in your advertised position for an Assistant Visual Merchandiser. I am confident that my experience, education, and skills in the industry make me a great candidate for the position.

My educational background is in Fashion Design and Graphic Design, while I have years of experience working as the head designer for Newborn and Toddler lines in both licensed and unlicensed products. I am also the owner of a small line of babywear (*) and a childen's fashion site (kid-a.gr,) at the same time I contribute content to well known style sites (WearThisToday.tumblr.com and fashionism.gr) for which I also designed the logos. Through both my academic training and professional experience, I gained expertise pertinent to design solutions addressing issues related to buying and merchandising. Working as a designer responsible for the Newborn line of Marasil and Toddler line or Pierre Cardin has provided me with the necessary skills to confidently create and fully organise a complete collection of coordinated outfits.

My main responsibilities is the research of new fashion trends, graphics, colours and shapes and the realisation of every style whether this is produced domestically or overseas, from sketch to finished garment. I coordinate graphic designers, pattern makers and the in-house sewing department. I am responsible of keeping in track the orders of fabrics and accessories, as well as overseeing the treatments of every garment. In this role, I have also learned how to analyze the market and deliver design solutions swiftly according to market's trends. My propositions helped to increase market share and establish my department as a leader in babywear.

I am very passionate about my work and my personal projects helped me explore new ideas and get a well rounded experience in negotiation, distribution and communication.

I have been very grateful for the opportunity to be involved with every aspect of the business in childrenswear, however, I feel I am now ready to move on to the next big thing in the fashion world. I literally live and breathe on-line shopping and given the opportunity to work closely with photographers, designers and merchandises in a digital environment I believe I will deliver great results.
