ABOUT
With a brief from Becker Beer and global advertising agency Madre to create something ‘surreal’, we were invited by production house Metropolis Films, one of the biggest Latin America video production houses, to help create two fully immersive 360-degree virtual reality experiences.
They wanted us to shoot two commercials for Becker Beer: the ‘Inflaboys’ experience, shot from a drone at a Chilean beach, and the ‘Chinchi Tower’ helicopter experience. Both of them were shown as an advertisement to enjoy with a Google cardboard from home. For this purpose, Becker Beer developed its own smartphone application and distributed Google cardboard headsets using a very interesting method. They allowed consumers to turn the packaging of the 24-can box of Becker Beer into a branded cardboard headset.
As 360 VR specialists we were commissioned to do the post-production (including cleaning, stitching and grading), but we were also creative and technical production partners, along with Metropolis, we advised on how to bring the creative idea to life. Our team worked out what was going to be shot, how it was going to be shot.
Becker Beer and Madre’s objective was to create something surreal and daring, both commercials were a success, being a 360 early-adopter earned Becker Beer great PR and social media exposure.
