"A Fearsome Fleet: Secrets of the Vikings" is a film I recently completed in collaboration with a talented group of people at National Geographic magazine for the March, 2017 cover story on Vikings.

It's a film that tells the story of how Vikings built their remarkable longships and how one young boy becomes a man.

It was made using a combination of stop-motion, live-action, and post-production visual effects. I tried to shoot it in a way that would both show off the amazing paper craft yet not reveal where one technique ended and the other began. It was a challenging project and a truly rewarding collaboration.
