Hannah's work

About Hannah

Dear Sir/Madam,

Last year, I graduated with a degree in Advertising, PR and media; I am very interested in learning more and gaining practical experience during this internship. With my previous customer service and admin experience, I believe this position will allow me to build on the skills I have acquired thus far whilst supporting my personal and professional development.

In my previous position, as an administrative assistant for Department for Work and Pensions, I supported the team by carrying out office tasks such as filing, photocopying and distributing newsletters around the office. I was responsible for sourcing job vacancies and creating posters to display on the office notice board. I made sure to include key information such as role, location, brief job description, pay and closing date so that customers could gain a general overview of the role. I was able to provide support in this way by finding vacancies that may have not been advertised as clearly as others. I helped to set up workshops and sessions for the customers by getting the necessary equipment such as pens, paper and clipboards. I would print or photocopy applications forms and numeracy/literacy test papers for certain roles.

During my role as an assessor at Middleton Murray, I learnt a lot about apprenticeships and I also worked with young people aged 16-18 years old. I managed a caseload of apprentices and had to organise visits with the apprentices to discuss the qualification. I would liaise with the client (the employer in charge of the apprentice) to book suitable meeting times and to discuss progress with their apprentice. The most rewarding part was for me was working with the young people and providing them with support to complete their qualification. Also, I received a qualification for Functional Skills ICT which helped to further develop my knowledge and understanding of Microsoft excel. Due to the nature of this role, I frequently used Microsoft word, Outlook, Google docs and PowerPoint- so I have strong IT skills especially in these areas.

However, I am very much interested in working in a creative field; From my experience coupled with the knowledge I have gained through my studies, this internship would be a great opportunity to show what I can do and to learn more about this industry. I am a hard-working, highly organised and positive individual with a can-do attitude; I enjoy helping others where I can and I am always willing to learn as well as explore new avenues. I am a creative person with interests in art, design and music; I like to draw and write in my spare time. I have a keen eye for detail and I always work to the best of my ability with each task or challenge I encounter.

I hope therefore, I would be given the chance to further expand on my skills and abilities. I am available for an interview as soon as possible and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Hannah Nambooze
