Hannah Gillingham Freelance Illustrator

ABOUT

This work is a personal exploration of my inner self, reflecting on an ongoing internal battle between artist and illustrator, split between the constraints of commercial briefs and the boundless creative freedom of working entirely from my own vision, as well as a continual shifting between digital and traditional mediums. This self-initiated personal piece marks the beginning of a period of self-reflection as I look inward toward 2026, trying to better understand where my practice is heading. The ribbon in the hair symbolises restriction, the scale of the landscape reflects openness, and the paintbrush hints at my use of traditional painting.
