Concept:
An IGTV introducing the artist, J-Mals with his interview and freestyle he performed on BBC Asian Networks Residency Show.

Execution:
I was given the built in studio camera equipment at the BBC Radio studios which includes 3 still cameras as well as a Canon 60d. I set up 1 Studio Camera facing the presenter as well as another facing the artist from a front angle and used boxes I found in the studio as a stand for the Canon 60d to take a side angle shot. I also used my own Canon 50d and shoulder rig to capture a handheld moving camera shot to create a “in the room” feel.
I also edited the video in post production. As well as colouring and grading the visuals I edited a clip from his music video and a clip from the freestyle he performed which was posted as a Youtube video. I also pieced together a story from the interview discussing J-Mals heritage and cultural influence as a mixed race Jamaican and Pakistani man as this would make a very interesting and relevant topic for Asian Networks audience.

Result:
The IGTV Post was highly commended by the Asian Network Social Media Producer and helped generate more views for the full freestyle Youtube video.
