Concept:
A freestyle video showcasing J-Mals talent as he freestyles over a beat for BBC Asian Networks Residency show. The video needed to showcase the artists performance whilst also showing the BBC Radio Studio environment, the presenter of the show and making the video visually appealing.

Execution:
I was given the built in studio camera equipment at the BBC Radio studios which includes 3 still cameras which are attached to one side of the desk as well as a Canon 60d. I set up 1 Studio Camera facing the presenter as well as another facing the artist front a front angle and used boxes I found in the studio as a stand for the Canon 60d to take a side angle shot. I also used my own Canon 50d and shoulder rig to capture a handheld moving camera shot to create a “in the room” feel.
I also edited the video in post production to colour and grade as well as make each shot change on beat.

Result:
As BBC Asian Network produced simple freestyle videos with minimal editing, this video was highly commended by the Execs of BBC Asian Network and BBC 1xtra. This resulted in heavy Social Media promotion from the station and support from various presenters.
