Twenty eight years of pushing audio and visual boundaries sees Misled Convoy, the solo project of sound artist Michael Hodgson (Pitch Black) releasing his 26th release, Tickling the Dragon’s Tail. This latest album drifts effortlessly between strands of electronic music, heavily influenced by bass culture, but draws equally from ambient, noise and art backgrounds, with the cinematic soundscapes densely layered over quivering bassline, peppered with stray horns and samples, and awash in echo.

I have designed album covers and promotional/tour collateral for Michael previously when he was one half of the internationally successful electronic duo Pitch Black. I was commissioned again by Michael to design a logo, album cover, promotional collateral and digital assets. Michael wanted a low-tech feel for the imagery, so I integrated some of the art from a series of monoprints I had been creating in my print studio.
