Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to your advert requesting applicants for a graduate account executive. As a recent economics and politics graduate with a strong desire to work in a commercial role and a good knowledge of business representation, I believe I am an excellent candidate for the position.

You will see from my enclosed CV that I have gained a wide variety of both transferable and specific skills, which relate to the role. The position would suit me exceptionally well and I know I will able to excel in a role where there are multiple responsibilities. I am a self-starter and will hit the ground running with no job being too small and using hands on approach to get things done. The 'ideal' experience which I may not have for this role I will make up through my willingness to learn, work ethic and resilience.

During university I expanded my knowledge and confidence of Microsoft programs such as Internet Explorer, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook Express. I actively enjoy researching on the Internet. My keyboard speed and accuracy has been increased from constant computer use from work experience.

My degree has proven my ability to express critical opinions within a sustained argument. A high level of research and analytical reading was essential to reach this standard, which was especially prevalent for my dissertation.

I am available to start work immediately and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
