Just over a year ago, we worked with Mirella von Lindenfels and her team at High Seas Alliance on a gargantuan task to get world leaders to sit up and take notice of what was happening with the world’s oceans.
Well, on Saturday, after decades of talks, more than 100 countries reached agreement on a United Nations treaty to protect the high seas. The High Seas Treaty will put 30 percent of the planet's seas into protected areas by 2030, aiming to safeguard marine life.
It’s organisations like The High Seas Alliance that make the world a better place to live in.
