ABOUT
Preparing for Christmas is an important part of people’s lives. As the winter solstice approaches, the number of hours filled with daylight draw to the smallest and use of man-made light becomes necessary.
It all starts with making the advent wreath, which will bring light to the darkest day of the year by lighting up a new candle every Sunday.
Four Sundays - four candles in a decorative arrangement, often as the centerpiece of the room. The candles lit a week apart will end up having four gradually smaller heights. And often the one lit up first will disappear before the holidays are over - ruining the arrangement.
The SCALES tealight holders started as a contemporary approach to the advent candles: tealights are a more practical, no mess, safe replacement for candles, but they are much more special lifted up to different heights - as if they were candles that were lit up at different times.
The rugged look of the cubic shape and material, which is concrete, is balanced out by the use of colours and the unexpectedly smooth surface. The object is a new experience to hold in the hands. The metallic colours are ideal for the holidays, the bright colours make SCALES a happy spot in the room throughout the year. Due to the material they work equally well outdoors to light up an al-fresco dinner party in the summer.
