ABOUT
2014 marked the 100th anniversary of the first Leica camera. Compact and easy to handle, it helped bring photographers out of the studio and into real life.
To celebrate the centennial and also promote the opening of Leica Gallery São Paulo, we created Soundlab. A project to recreate the sounds of some of the most important pictures ever taken with a Leica.
To promote the gallery’s opening, visitors were invited to listen to the tracks in a container placed inside the gallery. There they could put on headphones and be transported into some of the greatest photographs of all time.
100 boxed sets were sent to clients and to the press. Each one contained a collection of vinyl records with the tracks, special posters and a book. All the records, posters, record sleeves, books and leather boxes were 100% hand-crafted. Just like every Leica camera, since 1914 until today.
