Gráinne Gillis graduated with a BMus (First Class Honours) from University College Cork, Birkbeck Opera & Morley Opera School, and is a graduate of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
She has worked in theatre, TV, film and radio. Career highlights include appearing at the ROH, "Shamlet" at the King's Head and touring in Sir Peter Hall's production of As You Like It. Performances in opera have included La Nourrice in "Ariane et Barbe-Bleu , Zita in "Gianni Schicchi" and La Badessa in "Suor Angelica"; the Mother in "Hansel & Gretel"; and La Zia Principessa in "Suor Angelica".
Performances in 2014 included: the Third Witch (solo role) in "Macbeth", Dryad in "Ariadne auf Naxos", Alice in "Till the Boys Come Home", was a critically acclaimed Baba in "The Medium" at Grimeborn 2014, Annie Jump-Cannon in "The Observatory", and The Mother in "Hansel and Gretel" for Thames Philharmonia.
In 2015 Gráinne worked with English Pocket Opera Company as Third Witch (solo role) in Macbeth; Alice Quinn in 'Home Fires' at the Brockley Jack; and sang Third Lady for Pavilion Opera in 'Die Zauberflote' and appearing as Madame Popova in 'The Bear' for Operaview in July. She will sing the role of Dama in Pavilion Opera's production of 'Macbeth' in 2016.

In addition to her career as a dramatic mezzo-soprano,voiceover artist and actress, Gráinne is also a Huff Post UK blogger writing as 'The Political Diva' and is a soon-to-be yoga teacher, specialising in yoga for performers, in particular opera singers. Her Yoga Alliance qualification (which she will receive in 2015) is kindly supported by the Equity Charitable Trust.
