ABOUT

The PR agency SPQR asked me to create a campaign of recruitment advertising with a difference. The ads were timed to run just as the biggest agency holding groups were merging and making mass redundancies. SPQR's strategy was two pronged: by highlighting the inefficiencies and self-absorption of the big groups, they hoped to pick up some of the recently-shed talent for themselves. At the same time, a 'recruitment campaign' was a cleverly oblique way to get across the agency's approach and personality to potential clients.
The campaign was a joy to work on, especially since the client kept asking me to go harder and be more 'out there'.
The ads ran first as LinkedIn posts and then as outdoor executions. However, before the campaign ended, the poster company pulled them because they became scared of offending their big agency group clients.
All of which was great publicity for SPQR.
