Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the advertised Editorial Assistant position.

I am a creative individual who is bursting with ideas and enthusiasm for your team. I have secured work experience at The Sun, CNN, Redwood Publishing, and various magazine titles at Time Inc. and I feel that I have lots to offer your team. I am keen to put my passion for fashion and beauty alongside my skills into practice. With my interests and three year degree in BA Creative Writing and English Literature, I feel that this role would be a great fit for me.

House of Fraser has long been one of my favourite department stores. It has so much to offer from clothing, to cosmetics and home décor. I would love to to join your successful team. It would allow me to make use of my current skills, build on them and develop a career in fashion.

I regularly use popular social platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and so on for networking, inspiration and to keep updated on current affairs. I understand the importance of social media and I am aware that it can be used to drive traffic. I am also comfortable with using blogging platforms. You can find a link below to a blog I created.

I have experience of working within media companies. At CNN, I came up with snappy headlines and used my creative flair to write enticing scripts for news stories. At Redwood, I worked independently on articles, attended daily meetings and shared ideas at stand-ups. At LOOK magazine I contributed to their digital and print media. I wrote relevant online articles and came up with ideas for weekly debates and cover stories. Please find below links to examples of my published work.

I understand the basic premise of SEO is how you optimise your content so it appears high up in search rankings and this can be achieved through many means such as using specific keywords. I am keen to learn more about it as it is forever changing.

My years of retail experience have developed my customer service skills. It is essential to be polite, informative and attentive to ensure customer satisfaction.

I am a hardworking individual who is able to multi-task. I've always balanced work with studying. I can work under pressure and towards deadlines, as I plan and meticulously organise myself. I am a positive team player as I value the opportunity to exchange ideas, yet have the ability to work independently.I am not afraid to ask questions as I want to better myself.

I am eager to learn, and I have the capacity and drive to grasp information quickly. I just need the right position to allow me to fulfill this; I believe that this is it.
