I would like to be considered for the advertised position.
I am a skilled writer with an MA in English Literature currently working as an 'SEO Copywriter' for the insurance department of a travel company. Aside from my academic background and my current job, I have professional experience in research, editing, event production and customer service. Throughout my career I have demonstrated that I am a confident, friendly and an enthusiastic individual with a proactive work ethic. Whether it be in customer service, conferences or simply within meetings, I have consistently proven to be a strong and effective communicator. I have over two years' experience as a copywriter, having previously worked on a freelance basis for a local business.
My current position merges both digital content creation with SEO analysis and projection. Despite having no prior experience of SEO before my current employment, I taught myself how to write in HTML and CSS languages, as well as becoming confident in the reporting side of SEO. Before writing online content, to garner new organic traffic I perform keyword research with tools such as AWR, Ahrefs and SEMRush to gauge the popularity of our targeted keywords, as well as to measure our SERP rankings. I use Google Search Console to crawl indexed pages, and am familiar with page redirection and creating abbreviated URLs. I primarily use Looker and Google Analytics to report on the session-to-search rate, the bounce rate, as well as measuring the volume of bookings each page accumulates; all of the aforementioned is shared in my weekly marketing meetings and used in producing trajectories for our marketing seasonal trends and for company-wide OKRs (objectives and key results). I was tasked with redesigning the main travel insurance web page which, completed independently, I used HTML and CSS to maximise the new content's visibility in the SERPs. In addition to my job role, I have presented at an internal travel marketing conference and last September I attended the Brighton SEO conference.
I believe I have the right experience for this position and I am confident I will bring a fresh and enthused perspective to the team. In my current role I have been instrumental in identifying new opportunities to improve performance in organic visibility for the marketing team. Before the global lockdown due to Covid-19, I worked closely with the senior management team during what was a fast-paced and challenging time for the travel industry. I think that this experience and the general pace and constant developments in SEO have equipped me with the ability to work well within the ever-evolving fashion industry. I always achieve my deadlines and regularly offer to assist other members of the team if my help is needed.
I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope you will consider me for this position.
