ABOUT
The series explores the fusion of cultures by looking through mixtures of different cultural food. I have lived in the UK for years and missing food from home sometimes. Surprisingly I could not remember the real taste of my home flavour when I was trying to make a home cuisine. The integration of two different cultures has already been working in my tongue since I moved in a new environment. My taste preference has changed; it has been mixed up with both Western and Eastern cultures. I have felt no longer comfortable to be belonging in any certain culture. In these photos, two different cultural foods are smashed or crushed and mixed together, which represents a familiar but strange taste of similar food between home and outland on my tongue. Two similar foods from different continental cultures have connected and constructed colourful images in a small city.
