Google for Entrepreneurs’ Demo Day brings together a diverse group of startups from around the world to showcase their technology in front of top investors and mentors.

Insight
Demo Day is an international stage for founders. Google has significant convening power, offering unique value to the founders and investors by bringing them all together in one place, under a brand recognised across the globe.

Strategy
Using Google’s world-renowned brand as a platform, Amplify created a space in which the finalists were elevated in front of a global audience of experts.

Solution
#DemoDay
To open up Demo Day to a wider audience, a huge mural was created on the front of the Great Eastern Bear in Shoreditch, encouraging people to watch the live stream.

Amplify created an event space with bespoke set pieces and stage settings produced for each of the 10 startups to showcase their propositions. To ensure those watching remotely were included in the event, bespoke Twitter walls kept the conversation open. They featured alongside talks from Google staff, including a keynote from Matt Brittin, Google’s President of EMEA Business & Operations.

Amplify managed all operational and technical elements of the event as well organising and managing three days of after-hours events for attendees, including three lunches and a drinks and canapé event for 120 people.
London’s Demo Day was the first held outside of Silicon Valley, and Amplify were challenged to make this debut event one to remember.
