The Role

We have an excellent opening for a Middleweight Graphic Designer to join our Marketing and Communications Department in an exciting period for us as we look to expand our Design team.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a passionate organisation at the forefront of change. You will play an active role in supporting both colleagues and internal customers and act as a brand guardian contributing towards our in-house design service provision.

This key post will see you lead in the creation and innovation of new product promotions and marketing tools for Orbit across a variety of media for a diverse audience group.

Reporting into the Design Manager, you will be a key member of the team, working from initial concepts through to design. You will produce effective design and brand solutions and promote excellence at all times. You will be responsible for design requirements and will have the autonomy to lead and ensure that requests are fulfilled on time and to the brief.​

About you

We want somebody with strong creative vision and the ability to apply innovation at every opportunity. You will have an agency or in-house design studio background with significant experience in a similar role. You will have strong knowledge of design and brand principles and be confident working with brand guidelines.

You will be an excellent communicator who can excite internal customers with design and technical excellence. You will be able to multi-task and consistently hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment whilst challenging colleagues and internal customers to push the boundaries of the brief and ensure the creative work meets the right purpose. You will have the ability to design and layout projects for print and digital assets and be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

In order to meet the criteria for this role you will be:

  • Qualified in Graphic Design (Degree level), or equivalent
  • Highly conceptual and a problem solver with excellent attention to detail 
  • Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, with a minimum of 3 years software experience 
  • Strong layout and typographical skills
  • Experienced in Final Cut/ Premier Pro (would be an advantage)
