Cantonease was a brief set by MultiAdaptor, asking us to solve and issue, any issue, through the use of branding. Me and my course mate collaborated on a mutual issue we found personally interesting. As British born Chinese, we find that we are often less fluent in our own mother tongue as we were born and raised in England. After coming to university, we realised we were not individual cases, many of our BBC friends could not speak a word of Cantonese! We decided to create a schooling concept called Cantonease to teach BBCs about our dying dialect as well as the rich culture, history and contemporary history to us. This project provides two other touchpoints that advertises Cantonease, an online education platform that is subscription based.
