When A Decline in Tourism Happened at Valsanzibio…
When we read a promotional article about the Italian estate in the UK edition of the Financial Times back in 2018, we knew that Valsanzibio needed a hand with its online presence. Global Bay, our Bristol-based web design agency, reached out to the owner and identified a series of challenges that included;
· A substandard web experience on desktop and mobile.
· A lack of online tickets booking system.
· A lack of unified social media content and strategy.
· A dire need for high-quality visual content.
…Our Strategy Was Far-Reaching.
We touched upon the transformation of the website, tuning the customer experience, honing social media strategies, and digital marketing enhancement. We first set about remodelling Valsanzibio’s website to ensure a superior design and seamless, intuitive user experiences. As a priority, we increased responsiveness, simplified navigation, added striking visuals, and made the integrated online booking system fluid, which significantly enriched the user interaction.
In tandem, we revised the social media strategy of Valsanzibio, putting the focus on targeted campaigns that appealed to their international users. Merging compelling storytelling with high-quality visuals, we succeeded in attracting and captivating both local and international audiences, which translated into tangible expansion of the number of visitors to the estate.
Behind the curtain, we captured the beauty of The Monumental Garden of Valsanzibio. This empowered Valsanzibio to showcase its content resource library to their online visitors, equipping them to make quick decisions about booking tickets.
Improving Tourism of a Renaissance Estate with Technology
Our commitment extended to redesigning Valsanzibio’s website and making it tech-savvy and modern. This forward-thinking strategy of our web designers & developers in Bristol paid off during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, when all the tourism sites in Italy were locked down. However, due to an integrated online booking system, visitors could still buy tickets and support the garden.
Furthermore, the search engine visibility, social media footprint, and high-quality content marketing that our team of Bristol web designers & developers conducted, amplified Valsanzibio’s reach, drew in fresh audiences, and reinforced its status as one of the most famous period gardens in Italy.
After the transformation, Valsanzibio experienced a substantial uptick in online reservations which helped it survive the pandemic. There was an increase in web traffic from 2,500 to 10,050 visitors on average per month, as well as an increase in social media audience of 353% on Instagram and 171% on Facebook.
