About me
To Whom This May Concern,
Further to your recent advertisement for a Photo Editor, I am attaching my CV for your consideration.
I have just graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Photography degree from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia and I have now moved back to the UK. My degree was Commercial Photography based and within my last year, I specialised in Interior and Lifestyle photography. Throughout my course I did 3 years of a Photoshop elective, where I was lectured and tutored by Mark Galer, an Adobe Ambassador, as well as the author of Photoshop CS3,4 & 5 Essential Skills. I feel my Photoshop skills are of a high standard and I have a very clear knowledge of Bridge, Lightroom, Capture One and InDesign.
Whilst in Australia, I worked for a design blog, on a music video, television stills and assisted a photographer on a frequent basis. I worked closely with EST, a new online e-magazine based in Melbourne, which showcases boutique homes, shops and hotels throughout the world. Currently to date I have had three features published with EST.
Having the opportunity to work as a Photo Editor, would be the best way to expand my knowledge and experience this exciting field.
Recently I have just finished working for the Mr & Mrs Smith travel team where I worked with the digital side of the company and in the Hotel Partnerships region, where I did administration work and photo work. I was in charge of keeping all photo libraries up to date between Mr & Mrs Smith and hotels themselves. My skills became more advanced by working with a company where a team relies on each other to make a project happen. This taught me to be well organized, highly motivated, to be able to think on my feet and to learn quickly.
Living by myself in Australia for 5 years straight after finishing my A Levels taught me the real meaning of responsibility and organisation. I learned to interact with other people that I may not have done before and to be able to face a challenge alone to succeed.
If given the opportunity to be the Photo Editor, I would assure you that I am extremely hard-working, enthusiastic, always willing to learn and would be dedicated to any project thrown in my direction.
My portfolio of work is on my website at *.
I was excited to discover this opportunity and feel I could contribute to your company in a most positive way.
Thank you for considering my application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Kind Regards,
Georgina Skinner
