‘Good Vibrations’ was exhibited at Mansfield Museum for 6 weeks and created / designed entirely by myself with no funding or use of budget. By linking it to Mansfield with dated photographs and props such as ‘Syd Booths’ (the main record shop in Mansfield during the 60s), I was able to rake in a vast number of people from as far as Chesterfield and Nottingham. The exhibition follows the decade of the 60s and displays objects relating to music, fashion, culture and local / international events.

My final concept makes full use of the readily available resources that the Museum has to offer: store objects, a range of materials and printers. On entering, a projection of ‘Good Vibrations’ fills the front wall, with 60s clothing hung out of reach adjacent with insight into fashion / culture. Circling around the room, objects from the store and wallpaper of the era touch on home life, with records and radios in the back corner focusing on music. Printed posters and a kinescope from the stores educate on the incredible film history of the 60s local and worldwide, finishing off with a timeline of local and international events from the decade.
