ABOUT

Emotional Health is an awareness campaign driven by the idea that people are now aware of Mental Health issues, but still underestimate them due to their link to emotions. Especially amongst young adults, the sense of invincibility and the idea that “this won’t happen to me” often causes people to ignore legitimate issues or think they don’t exist. Through use of minimal graphical representations of mental and emotional issues and idioms associated with them, awareness posters were made to inform people that mental health issues can and will happen to them, and can be as serious as physical ailments.

The campaign included minimal posters with medical help information, advertising ad shells and posters that combine the minimal graphics with quotes and photography aimed at young adults. T Shirts were also created with the abstract graphics with the idea being that people could talk about their issues through clothing instead of actually talking, giving them a sense of ownership and power over their issues without the barrier of speech. An app was also conceptualised as a hub of information for any mental health issues.
