ABOUT
In French, La Pelle means “the shovel”. From the shovel’s first plunge into the vineyard soil, to its last scrape of the fermentation tank, LaPelle wines are equally crafted in the vineyard and in the cellar and are a true collaboration between farmer and winemaker.
The assignment was to create a wine label that truly stands apart from the rest and brings the meaning of LaPelle to life in a unique way and also highlights the winemakers mission to create terroir-driven wines that are the ultimate expression of the sites from which the fruit is sourced.
The concept for this brand is to let the label shape demonstrate the importance of the shovel in wine growing and winemaking.
We created a 360-degree wrapped label that leaves the negative shape of a shovel. For the site-specific wines, we hired a professional map artists to create original maps that highlight the exact location of the vineyards for each varietal of wine.
In printing, we had the map terrain sculpt embossed to mimic the texture of an embossed globe.
