ABOUT

This final concept art is part of my brainchild, a fantasy world I am working on since years. This particular structure is a temple carved in the inside of an elevated mountain, in a snowy mountain range. The inside of the mountain is a cyclopic hollow concretion, made out of this unique quartz that appears as a jade-like stone. A secluded monastery has been built inside it, carrying on an ancient religious, philosophical and martial art. The concept is about mystery, isolation, the harshness of this place out of the common world's reach, with a special eye to the details: the jade stone, the rocks, the ice are all blending together.
I used to work on a set of thumbnails about various parts of this temple and the secluded city that has been built on a lower part of the same mountain. I hope to bring every of these sketches to life as the final concept art of the Jaidàh Konduh, one day.
