Concept: Inner Design approached Futurewave to develop a meditation chair that could transform public indoor spaces, offices, airports, hotel lobbies, libraries, into personal sanctuaries for rest and mental well-being. The brief called for a product that provides genuine acoustic and visual privacy without feeling isolating, using sustainable materials and a form that fits naturally into professional environments.

Execution: Futurewave's integrated team of industrial designers and engineers defined the complete product architecture, from structural form to material specification. The chair combines an FSC-certified ash wood frame with a canopy made from 100% recycled polypropylene fabric that filters natural light to create a calming atmosphere. The team engineered the structure for simplified assembly and local manufacturing in Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring production quality while reducing supply chain complexity.

Results: Shanti received the 2024 Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum. The chair has been adopted in professional environments where mental wellness is a priority, establishing Inner Design as a credible player in the wellness furniture space with a fully validated, manufacturing-ready product.
