ABOUT
As the UK’s leading social mobility charity, Speakers for Schools join forces with businesses to provide state-educated 14-19-year-olds with the life-changing work experience opportunities they deserve.
But 66% of young people still leave school with no work experience*.
And without a vast number of employers there won’t be enough placements to change this statistic.
So, how do we recruit more organisations to join us in our mission; when they probably don’t know what work experience means for their business – without spending anything?
By turning our current employer partners into free advertisers, harnessing the power of their vast LinkedIn networks and social sharing habits.
Introducing…
SIGN UP, PASS IT ON
An organic LinkedIn campaign whereby we asked our current employers to post a message from us on their own social feeds aimed at all the uniformed potential work experience partners out there – “Could you turn on the talent tap, close the skills gap, and make a big social impact like we have? Sign up, pass it on.” And it becomes self-propelling!
Our bright and high-impact post imagery communicated all the things that employers might not know it means to host work experience… “Work experience, aka talent pool, fresh perspective, skills gap closer, inspired employer, lasting impact.”
We coordinated bespoke posts from lots of our partners and shared templated posts from many more, whilst also getting our internal teams in on the ‘pass it on’ action.
With plenty of LinkedIn interactions, the power of social sharing really can make a difference!
