I was commissioned to soundtrack a full set of sounds for this immersive VR experience. Using samples from the amaMpondo tribe of South Africa and the Maasai tribe of Northern Tanzania as source material, I created a dense collage of sound to enhance the experience.

Emergence is an open-world environment, expressing the primal desire to maintain your individual identity whilst being part of a crowd.

The work has been shown at Fluid Bodies at Borusan Contemporary, Istanbul, in 2018-2019. An updated VR version of Emergence, presented in collaboration with WITHIN, will premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival as part of New Frontier, a curated collection of cutting-edge independent and experimental media works by artists and creators working across new mediums.
