ABOUT
I am Fredrick Ochieng, a documentary photographer based in Kenya with a deep passion for the transformative power of storytelling and visual arts—a passion that has spanned decades. My journey into photography began at the age of 9, when I first crafted a camera out of clay. What started as a simple experiment quickly became a lifelong dedication, eventually leading me to become a Canon-certified trainer, where I’ve had the privilege of sharing my expertise with aspiring photographers across Africa.
In 2006, my work gained international recognition when I contributed to the UN Habitat Millennium Development Goals book. This project underscored my commitment to using photography as a powerful tool for social change, something I continue to champion today. Fast forward to 2022, I was honored to be named Canon North and Central Africa's Trainer of the Year, a recognition that reflects my dedication to nurturing talent and advancing the craft of photography across the continent.
