ABOUT
THE BRIEF
We were asked by Spitfire to work on a new campaign for BT Sport, publising their newly won rights to show the Champions League. Spitfires art direction and attention to detail ensured that the ads worked as well on a 90 pixel high online ad or 4m high video screen.
THE PROJECT
The first campaign had a Champions League style ticker tape explosion as a key part of the creative, however the footage shot, was far too intense and would of blocked the player from view. We tried a few different techniques for creating our own 3D ticker tape expolosion and found that Element3D allowed us the greatest flexibility and control over the ticker tape particles.
Another key aspect of all the ads was the footage of the players themselves. These were shot in different locations around Europe on a greenscreen and required very careful keying out and then we colour correction inside After Effects
THE RESULTS
The final adverts were used in a massive campaign running across the UK. Elements of our ads, were then used in Newspaper adverts and our rotating Champions League background was also used in the TV campaign. The Digital out of home, video billboards, brought many railway and underground stations, and large shopping centers to life. The highlight being the display of it at Waterloo Station on the largest LED screen in Europe, spanning 6 platforms (40m long) and covering a massive 120 square meters.
