ABOUT
The Smile Foundation Ironman Team was created in November 2015 in order to allow athletes to raise funds for disadvantaged children to undergo surgery for facial abnormalities. Working closely with the Smile Team I came up with the idea to create the Team participation concept to engage athletes to participate in the event for a worthy cause. The scope of my work involved: development of the brand identity for the team and team logo; generation of supporting material that is be used digitally and in print formats as a call to action for athletes to join the team; develop material that allows signed up athletes to promote their fund raising goals through social media, and create awareness for the campaign; provide a channel for athletes to raise sponsorship funds through the givengain website. To date we have raised nearly R500 000 and counting, with 70 + athletes signed up to represent Smile Foundation at the Ironman African Championship in April this year.
