ABOUT

The Pundit League is a social betting app. Users can sign up and join or create pools to bet on real time odds against their friends. The purpose of this app is to make the customers feel that they are betting without using real money - only when they join a pool for a fee - but more a game with friends and family. At the end of the pool, the player with the most points wins the pool pot.

For user research, I checked against the biggest betting competitors in the market, including: Bet365, BetFair, etc. We wanted to create the same vibe but still making it more like a fun game. I spoke to other people and friends who are into gambling and asked them what they would expect to see on a game like this.

After this, I sat down with the Product Manager to go through the design spec the business provided. I started creating sketches of the main screens and created a prototype using Balsamiq - the app is mobile first, although users can also use it within their browser of choice. After I finished the first one, I gather a few colleagues together (as well as friends and family) to get feedback on it and start the user testing - the earlier the better.

After the first test was completed, I sent the wireframes and prototype to the developers (who work in and office in Malaga, Spain), so they could start designing the database. In the meantime I started creating the pixel perfect visuals along with a prototype using InVision with the basic journey - selecting a pool and placing a bet. Once this was done I carried out another test session to make more improvements on the go. We're still making improvements and for permissions to make the app available on the Google Play and Apple stores.
