ABOUT

It was our pleasure to play a very small part in this inspiring project. Well into his 80s, local man Mike Harvey dedicated the last eight years to researching the 100+ fallen servicemen of the small town of Nailsworth in Gloucestershire. He organised the installation of a little blue plaque on each of their former homes, and then devised a series of six waymarked walks around the town linking most of the blue plaques together. We created the cartography for the six maps, devised the branding and designed the series of six leaflets for him.
The leaflets are A3 in format and fold to one-third-A4. Each A4 map is at a different scale and sometimes has a false-north or an inset to maximise the coverage of the route on the A4 page. Instructions for each walk are printed below the map so that the map and instructions can both be viewed at the same time and the right-way-up while navigating the route. The reverse is printed with details of the fallen servicemen in the form of a section of a contemporary newspaper page.
