ABOUT

An analysis of the urban layering starting from an element, the train. That has over time become an indispensable tool for moving around London's madness.
The train allows an overview of the surrounding landscape, and in this case of the London metropolis. The photographs show a divided city, in an expressive multiplicity given by a process of urban transformation that creates different levels in the city: complex, tangled, layered, communicating with each other, one on top of the other.
Those layers would not seem to be noticed by Londoners who, with extreme familiarity, move from one level to the next one without perceiving the presence of several cities into one.

London is opening up to an unstoppable gentrification process which nevertheless seems to go unnoticed. Photographic seriality becomes a different way of perceiving reality, which creates a matrix of the urban modifications. The repetition of some elements wants to break the norm and invite the observer to focus their attention on what instead changes.
