This is a conceptual solution I designed for the new MG3 configurator. The task was to produce a configurator that reflected the fun nature of the car and allowed the users to customise their own MG3.. I proposed that once they had designed their car, they were then able to race a miniature version of their customised car around google maps, any destination that they pleased.

The MG3 is a fun car, and MG were promoting the fact that with the quirky features and hidden gems, “everyday is your birthday.” Following on from this ideal, I came up with the “You, Me & 3” concept, which makes the customisation a social occasion and allows the users to challenge their friends to races on google maps ,in their own MG3’s. But it also makes the whole experience feel like a party, which is ideal for the target market. Three is no longer a crowd, 3 is now a party. Your new MG3 that is. Customising the interior using the configurator turns into a fun even more interactive feel, bringing the new car experience to life. The user can stream music from Sound Cloud to set the mood, “rev” the accelerator to hear the purr of the new engine. All that’s left is that new car smell….
