A pattern is a combination of elements or shapes repeated in a recurring and regular arrangement.
The use of patterns can radically change the look of a subject.
Personally, I find inspiration to create new patterns observing the world around me, from natural elements, human artefacts, architectures and much more.
Catching and isolating a specific feature of a larger subject and replicating it in a smaller scale until it becomes something totally different, creating new and fascinating elements...I have always been intrigued by this property of graphic design.
