ABOUT
The elevated position of the site gives the building a privileged view of the surrounding landscape and the lack of light pollution makes it a strategic point to observe also a different kind of view: the sky.
The building consists of a central core structurally independent, which hosts the observatory function, and perimetral spaces for the hotel function, with a load-bearing structure made of structural blocks arranged in a pentagonal pattern.
The first level resembles a large glazed veranda which enables a full view of the surrounding landscape.
At the second level spaces are arranged into a spiral that follows the pentagonal plan below.
The project therefore puts in relation the diurnal earthly view in the horizontal direction, and the heavenly night view in the vertical direction, becoming a sort of a meeting point between earth and sky.
