In 2023 and 2024, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation intensified its work on political issues, engaging in discussions with country leaders, particularly in Brazil, and promoting the need for public policies and laws for a circular economy. As an agency, recognizing the importance of this stance, we leveraged the expertise of the Foundation's spokespersons to create new media opportunities, provide commentary and interviews on these topics, strengthen key messages relevant to the Foundation, and mobilize and support the creation and discussion of these laws.

In recent years, we have focused on two central themes: a legally binding treaty on plastics being discussed in UN INC meetings (as studies have shown that voluntary commitments are insufficient to address the current level of plastic pollution) and the Circular Economy Bill in Brazil. Our work involved closely following real-time discussions and acting swiftly to propose newsworthy topics to journalists. As a result, we secured publications in Valor Econômico (the Brazilian Financial Times), Globonews, Poder360, EPBR and others.
