This project was set to replace the woodcraft, linocut table lamp which sold well the previous year. The brief was to create a ceramic table lamp, similar in style to India Janes, using the hummingbird motif used in their homeware and textiles. The hummingbird provided was pointing in a direction which affected the repeat. I hand painted a hummingbird with open wings, in watercolour and photo edited using photoshop. I then adjusted the original bird to match and played around with the repeat of the two around the circumference. Sourcing a ready made base and working with the client, factory and other account designer to reach a finished product with a vibrant shade.
