Lycamobile approached Eye-D Creative to help them establish a secondary brand which would help them communicate to the UK and international student market. After extensive market research to understand the student mind, the telecoms market and the Lycamobile brand we were able to identify what was at heart of the parent company and what core values and messages needed to be communicated within the new brand.

Out of this Lyca <3 Students was born.
A bold, modern and culturally relevant branded campaign taking the best parts of the Lycamobile brand while moving it into the student market. Yellow was chosen to differentiate it from it’s competitors, bold typography was used to easily and simply communicate the important messages and new images were chosen to better reflect the millennial student market.

To begin with we produced the key branding look and feel; new SIM card, leaflet, posters and flyer designs with a video to follow in the next couple of months. These will start to appear in UK universities across the country over the next couple of months.

My role in the project was doing the research that helped to establish the strategy on how to differentiate Lycamobile from their competitors and establish them as one of the go to brand within the UK student market. The research document was over 100 pages, took a month to put together but this help develop a good understanding of the market and the company From this we produced the new brand you see in the following images.
