About me
To whom it may concern
Dear Sir/Madam,
In my last post which finished this week, I have been working at the Musicians Benevolent Fund (a music charity) as an Office Administrator and Operations Assistant, and I have large experience matching all your candidate criteria.
I hold a BA in Fine Arts (Hons) where I had one year solely on Graphic Design, and a MA in History of Art. I would also like to start a PhD sometime in the future related to arts. After being a museum guide for three years in art exhibitions, working with multimedia & books retail for other four years and active as an administrative assistant for the last four years, being the Office Administrator at the Musicians Benevolent Fund now has become quite satisfactory to me - not only as a day job related to my area of interest but also to get involved via administrative duties with charitable activities that targets to help individuals, encourages and protects culture.
Reliability is extremely important to me - I might be slightly late on occasion due to minor transport delays or illness, but still, I want to feel that my co-workers can always rely on me, knowing that I will be on site to help them and work with them as they expect me to. I am always happy to volunteer in covering any other members of staff during any absence - as multi-tasking is a must!
I am fluent in two European languages beyond English: Spanish and Portuguese, written and spoken, which can be very useful in different occasions. My IT ability allows me to be very confident and successful with any new electric and electronic equipment. I can also manipulate software and websites using coding languages such as SQL, HTML etc. To produce documents and other media needed via a series of different suites such as Microsoft and Adobe packages are also high on my practice, and I can learn quickly and well any other new software that the Fund needs to be introduced to. I am also CRB checked and currently the only First-Aider in the office, and am very interested in participate in any further training or events that would help the activities and development of the organization, be those IT related or not. I can be promptly available to give any training to any other member of staff who needs it too.
Previously as the sole Office Administrator and Operations Assistant, I got very involved with general IT tasks on my daily routine. I looked after the IT servers, checked the database for any needed maintenance or staff requests, assisted the Office Manager with the servers and backup tapes; I also looked after all the photocopiers, printers, telephones and any other equipment that may need attention. I am proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, Corel and other creative software. I can quickly and easily get on with a new computer program and work fast. Amongst many creative tasks computer-based, I designed brochures with InDesign under strict branding guidelines and treated all its images with Photoshop. I have also supervised and liaised with the Patent office registering new logos. My keen eye for detail and perfectionism brings very positive feedback on branding, creative design and finished product.
As a good organizer, I can deal with contracts and paperwork related to any external services hired and liaise with any IT maintenance that is needed; I constantly trouble-shoot and resolve several kinds of problems that appear ad-hoc with the computers and similar equipment in the office myself, making sure that the matter has been dealt with promptly and efficiently, and that the member of staff has the less inconvenience as possible in regards to any equipment of his/her use that might be involved. I'm also happy to help with any other ad-hoc activities that supports the other departments too, as much as I can.
I am looking forward for the possibility of an interview and for now, I would like to thank you for giving me this chance of applying for this post. In the meantime, if you have any questions in regards to my application, please do not hesitate in contacting me. Please see my design portfolio and CV attached.
Kind regards & best wishes,
Eva Droguett
