ABOUT

Taking inspiraiton from the archtitecture and art culture of Barcelona, the aim of the project was to produce a collection of childrens interiors. Including Wallpaper, baby blankets, curtains and mobile kushions. The project focuses on the mosaics of Park Gueil that were designed by Antoni Gaudí, who is the most famous architect of Barcelona of his time. Antoni Gaudí is the main inspiration to my project as the architecture surrounding Barcelona is featured through-out. I use my illustrative style to turn these detailed and complicated pieces of work into more child-like drawings to make a clear link to my market. The concept of the project is to explore child developement using different textile surfaces and colours to stimulate the senses such as touch and sight. Primary Colours are very important within child development as well as clear and sharp imagery which are portrayed within my project. The final result of the project is collection of baby room interiors for the upper high street market, using competitors such as John Lewis, Scandiborn and Not on the High Street.
