Overview
Blue Lagoon is the swimming pool and retail area within a luxury holiday resort. The space had started to feel dated, so the aim was to refresh the brand and completely transform the guest experience from the moment they walked through the doors.

The goal was to create a bright, colourful and welcoming space that felt like stepping onto a beach, while still fitting with the resort's premium feel.

The Brief
Create a refreshed look and feel for the Blue Lagoon brand, along with a series of large-scale graphics that would bring the reception and retail areas to life. The artwork needed to be fun and engaging for families, while also helping guests find their way around the space.

My Process
I started by putting together a mood board inspired by local beaches, seaside colours and coastal landscapes before developing a new visual style and colour palette.

From there, I illustrated all of the artwork from scratch, creating scenes based on local beaches, beach huts and marine life. The reception area features coastal landscapes and wayfinding elements, while the retail area takes guests underwater with illustrations of sea creatures found locally.

A big part of the project was planning how the artwork would work within the space. Every mural had to be carefully measured and scaled so that shelving, hanging rails and other fixtures didn't block important parts of the illustrations. It took a lot of planning to make sure everything lined up perfectly once installed.

The Outcome
The finished space feels bright, playful and much more welcoming. The refreshed branding and bespoke illustrations completely changed the atmosphere, creating an immersive environment that reflects the surrounding coastline while making the retail and reception areas much more engaging for guests.
