In a nutshell

Reporting to the User Experience Lead, you'll play a vital role within Virgin Holidays' design and technology teams.

You’ll work flexibly across our agile product teams alongside four digital product designers supporting them in their own UX work, either on a project or pull basis, while also helping the UX Lead and others to push big changes in the way we work and start to develop a culture of design within Virgin Holidays.

Day to day

Support the User Experience Lead in changing outlook and behaviours of key stakeholders up to senior management level, championing the customer outlook to help influence business decisions and grow the stakeholders understanding and appreciation of design.

Support the design and technology teams in delivering the digital roadmap, working to shared goals within a cross-functional team.

Use evidence, experience and best practice to influence others and change processes and behaviours, helping a margin-oriented business to understand the commercial value of design.

Help the business solve new problems, following best practice in design thinking to proactively create innovative solutions to user needs and simplify complex travel products.

Support the wider design team in developing better processes and establishing the digital design practice within Virgin Holidays. Work with the agile development coach and the Voice of the Customer Manager to ensure that products are conceived and developed in the right way.

About you

You’ll have strong UX fundamentals and solid experience of designing and delivering high-quality digital products, ideally in an agile environment.

You’re a confident, influential communicator who can champion user-centricity and best practice based on real experience. You’ll show good business sense, with an ability to understand and balance commercial, design and user needs, and to ensure that design solutions have a measurable benefit to the business. While you have a solid process, you’re comfortable working flexibly, and you don’t lose your cool if the plans change.

You may be in-house, agency or freelance we don’t mind. And while a background in travel, hospitality or e-commerce would be useful, it’s not essential. We’re looking for skills, empathy and energy above all.
