ABOUT

If there's one thing people don't want to talk about during the happy Christmas season, it's cybercrime. To help our client Norton Security overcome this barrier, we needed to find a way to make cybersecurity relevant to consumers.

Our solution? Go after the one person everyone loves: Santa Claus.

With 1000s of years of dirt on everyone, Santa was the perfect target for hackers, which gave rise to our two short films: Santa Got Hacked Part I and II. In these films, we imagined what would go down if Santa Got Hacked by the Bah Hum Bug and lost his data to some seriously bad guys on the Internet.

The first film launched in 2015, in which we partnered with Mashable, Gawker and The Daily Beast to break the news like a real hack, creating custom content and news articles. The films went viral with over 4 million views on Youtube, earned a space in Fast Company's Top 5 Ads of the Week and won an Addy.

The ad was so popular that in 2016 we brought Santa back to see how Norton Security had improved his life at The Pole. Turns out Santa finally upgraded his workshop into a smartshop. The film went viral and earned a spot as Creativity's Pick of the Day.
