Emma De La Fosse Chief Creative Officer

ABOUT

Business decision makers thought that Lotus was just an email programme. We wanted to change this perception by demonstrating its ability to connect multiple sources of live data in real time. We also wanted to inspire the audience, so they would choose Lotus as part of their IT strategy.

To do this, we took Heathrow's live air traffic control data and live scores from the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, then mashed them up with the tennis players' nationalities to create live, useful, customised updates for passengers at Terminal 5.

The design and typography took a poke at the BAA house style and on location gave the work an understated humility. This allowed for a more subtle discovery of the work, resulting in a more prolonged interest and a 300% increase in website visits.

Over 300 unique headlines appeared on 73 digital airport screens during the two weeks of the Wimbledon.
