About me
Why I May Have Developed Cleithrophobia (And Why I'm Applying for the Junior Copywriter Position)
I came home late from work last night.
It wasn't because I was burning the midnight oil. I wasn't doing over-time.
(But of course I do that anyway.)
I was locked in the stockroom.
* * *
It was the evening shift at my part-time job.
(I'm a Senior Sales Assistant/Supervisor in Schuh, one of the most competitive, fast-paced and challenging stores on the high street)
After the tills were counted and the shop floor was tidied, I was getting changed out of my uniform in the bathroom.
Totally oblivious to the fact that the rest of the staff - in their haste to leave the shop as fast as was humanly possible - had forgotten all about me. They locked the doors, switched off all the lights, turned on the store alarm and went on their merry way; leaving me trapped in the stockroom for over a half an hour, until someone returned to rescue me.
I don't want to work in an environment where spend their entire day waiting to go home again. I want to work where people are passionate about what they do.
I'm a driven, creative team player (with the ability to work independently) who's passionate about ideas, social media, advertising, all things digital and brands.
I graduated with a high 2:1 in my BA (English and History: Joint Honours) from University College Cork, Ireland (as well as a stint in the college's Film Society) in autumn 2014.
In November 2015, I will be graduating from the MSc in Advertising (Creative Stream) from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland.
I have been working as a Junior Copywriter in H+A Marketing + PR, the leading full-service marketing consultancy agency in Ireland since June, as well as continuing my part-time retail position and writing my Masters thesis, which examines the relationship between Generation C women and Irish fashion bloggers.
I'm good at what I do; now I want a chance to prove it.

I'll be so good that you could never forget about me (and you won't need to lock me in to get me to work late)
