In a small Texas town, young Ruby Bell has suffered beyond imagining during her childhood and adolescence. For that reason, she runs away from her oppressive hometown as soon as she can. However, years later, a telegram forces her to return home. Ruby is then forced to relive the disturbing facts and reunite with the characters who defined the early years of her life, struggling to preserve sanity in the midst of dark memories.
